Welcome to the Real Wood Studios website

Real Wood Studios is a co-operative of furniture designer-makers based near Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders. We specialise in the creative use of native Scottish hardwoods and we have our own on-site Woodmizer sawmill and timber processing workshop.

From the inspiring woodland setting of Monteviot Nurseries, the designer-makers create bespoke, hand-crafted furniture and wood works. Working individually or collectively the designer-makers design and produce a wide range of pieces - including dining tables, chairs, fireplace mantles, cabinets and coffee tables. We also sell FSC-approved Scottish hardwoods, including Oak, Ash, Elm, Beech, Birch, Sycamore and Yew, all sustainably sourced from local estates. Other species and select softwoods are available to order including Holly, Hornbeam, Larch and Douglas Fir. Our Woodmizer Mobile Sawmill is available to hire on or off site at hourly or day hire rates. We can also machine timber to order if you need wood for a home project. Real Wood Studios grew out of Woodschool, which was established in 1996. Now being run by its members as a non-profit distributing enterprise, Real Wood Studios is owned and run by craftspeople for craftspeople. We’re working hard to develop the business - please drop into the workshop and showroom for a visit or check the website for updates.
